So you've decided that you're interested in purchasing a vehicle, but not just any vehicle––you want to find something at a used Chrysler dealer. Chrysler vehicles have everything you'd need, and the one we'll be talking about today is the venerable Chrysler 300. The Chrysler 300 is a luxurious sedan capable of some incredible things. Best of all, finding a used model isn't as difficult as some other vehicles out there, and that's because the Chrysler 300 has been in active production for nearly two decades. Whether you're interested in a 2011 model, a 2016, a 2021, or anything in between, the Chrysler 300 can be your next vehicle for years to come, and you can find many used Chrysler 300 models at our dealership, Londonderry Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Of course, you can't mention the Chrysler 300 without mentioning the famous 300S. What differentiates the 300S from its standard counterpart is its optional V8 engine that significantly improves the car's already stellar performance. Speaking of that stellar performance, it stems from a V6 engine that comes standard in Chrysler 300 models, and a used 300S with the V6 still receives a small bump in its horsepower and torque output. We'll discuss performance and efficiency, interior features, and show you why you should purchase a used Chrysler 300. With that in mind, let's get started, shall we?

Powerful Performance

Let's set the stage with the Chrysler 300S. Starting with the 2012 model year, it sports a standard 3.6L V6 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. A 5.7L V8 engine, which is only available in the 300S, is there too, linked to the same transmission. Considering the cost differential between a brand new vehicle and a slightly used one, the first main reason why you should purchase a used Chrysler 300 is because the performance remains the same as the latest model. Still not satisfied? What if we told you that every Chrysler 300 since the 2011 model has had the same base engines as the newest Chrysler 300? That's right, your 2011 Chrysler 300 can perform identically to the newest model, and you don't need us to tell you why that's important when shopping for a used one.

What does that mean for the performance that you can realistically expect? Starting with the 3.6L V6 engine, you'll get 292 hp if you don't opt for the 300S model, and if you do, this will be increased to an even 300 bhp. As for the torque output, regular models output 260 lb-ft of torque, and the 300S again increases this to 264 lb-ft of torque. With the 5.7L V8, on the other hand, you'll get 363 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque. It's worth mentioning, however, that the 2012 to 2014 Chrysler 300 was also available in an SRT8 variant, which featured a 6.4L V8 engine that produced 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.

The SRT8 variant of the Chrysler 300 is a must-mention from us, and this is not only because of that aforementioned performance. The 300 SRT models aren't available new anymore, so that leaves the used market as the only realistic option. Coupled with its incredible performance is an incredible feature set, including a 900W speaker system courtesy of Harmon Kardon that comprises nineteen built-in speakers.

A variety of additional performance features are available for used Chrysler 300 models, such as an excellent damping system so that your sedan can feel more stable on the road, thanks to reduced vibrations. An AWD system is also available on V6 versions of the Chrysler 300. AWD is a must-have for drivers here in Alberta, so ensuring your vehicle can withstand weather year-round is as essential as purchasing a vehicle that can accelerate.

Incredible Cabin Space

Cabin space is another incredible aspect of the Chrysler 300 and undoubtedly a part of its success. The 300 will provide both you and all of your passengers with an ample amount of room to relax and enjoy the ride. Inside the cabin, the front row will provide either 98 or 93.7 cm of headroom, depending on if you find a used model with the available dual-pane sunroof. As for legroom, the front row gives you and the passenger next to you a respectable 106 cm of legroom.

In the back, these passengers will get a spacious 96 cm of headroom without the dual-pane sunroof and the same 93.7 cm as the front row with it installed. These back row passengers will also be treated to 101.9 cm of legroom, which means that you'll comfortably fit inside of the Chrysler 300, whether you're the driver or the passenger. We also wanted to mention cargo space because the 300 is rather spacious amongst its competition, thanks in part to its 462L of trunk room for your belongings. Ultimately, full-size sedans are hard to find these days, but with a used Chrysler 300, you'll get one of the best to have ever existed.

Taking A Look Inside

When purchasing a used Chrysler 300, there's something that you should know. If comfort is what you're most interested in, then you'll have a far wider range of models to shop for because the 300 has always supplied incredibly comfortable amenities. If tech is your thing, however, and you're looking for a more modernized feature set, such as the implementation of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it's best to opt for a 2017 model or newer. This way, you can ensure that you'll be getting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto thanks to a new and improved infotainment center that replaced the prior Uconnect system. These features are certainly worth opting in for, so if the prospect of linking your phone to your 300 seamlessly appeals to you, then it's a clear decision.

As for the aforementioned comfort, these amenities go back rather far. From the earliest model years, there have

been many variations in how you can customize your interior. For example, the Touring model will ensure your seats are designed with premium cloth stitching, and you'll be nothing short of comfortable while sitting in your 10-way power-adjustable driver's chair. A variety of other features are included, such as the previously mentioned infotainment center and a substantial set of safety tech. If you opt for the 300S, however, you'll be treated to stylish leather seating, which matches nicely with the leather-wrapped steering wheel. The 300S not only includes a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat but a 10-way seat for the passenger sitting next to you as well.

This Begs The Question

So, why purchase a used Chrysler 300? As you can likely tell, it's because the 300 has been an extremely well-put-together vehicle for many years, and whether we're discussing performance, efficiency, or interior and safety tech, there are many reasons why a used model can still hold its own in the more modern market. This is largely in part to Chrysler as a manufacturer, and considering how gracefully its vehicles age, it's becoming increasingly clear which manufacturers were ahead of the times and which were sorely stuck in the past. What we can ultimately tell you is that you'll be more than happy with your purchase, and regardless if you purchase a 2021 model or even a 2011 model or earlier, you'll be rather pleased with the results.
