Additional Vehicle Information
When it comes to finding the pickup truck that can handle the most challenging jobs, look no further than the Ram 1500. Its 2018 model is here on our sales lot at Londonderry Dodge, and we couldn’t be more excited about its striking features. We are so confident that you’ll love everything about this pickup that we put it up against one of its worthy competitors: the Ford F-150. Continue reading to see how the 2018 Ram 1500 defeats its opponent in more ways than one.
With your busy schedule, you’re on the road quite often, so you want to save as much fuel as possible during your daily routes. You’ll be happy to hear that the Ram 1500’s 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine produces an astounding 8.0 L/100 km hwy1. The Ford F-150’s 2.7L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder powertrain is able to save energy most efficiently out of its entire lineup, but even this option can’t match the Ram 1500, as it only offers 9.3 L/100 km hwy2. What’s more, the Ram 1500’s EcoDeisel V6 machine proudly pumps out 420 lb.-ft. of torque, whereas the F-150's EcoBoost® powerhouse falls behind with its 375 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Ram 1500 continues to impress you, as its 3.6L V6 Pentastar™ base engine puts up to 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque at your disposal. Unfortunately, you won’t have as much force at hand with the Ford F-150’s standard 3.5L V6 option, since it can only muster up 282 horsepower and 253 lb.-ft. of torque. You may think that the 6-speed automatic transmission that is found in the first iteration of Ford’s truck is impressive, but the Ram 1500 does one better by pairing the 8-speed TorqueFlite® 8-speed automatic transmission with its standard powertrain. Also, Ram’s outstanding pickup offers a class-exclusive3 multilink coil spring rear suspension that improves capability and handling, especially when a trailer is attached. This way, you’ll have all the support you need when you bring your boat out to Sandy Beach for the weekend. On the other hand, this innovation isn’t implemented in any of the F-150’s models.
You’ll find even more striking standard features that are included in the Ram 1500, such as its 3.5-inch Electronic Vehicle Information Center and its 6-speaker audio system. The best that the Ford F-150 can do is offer a 2.3-inch productivity screen and a 4-speaker sound system in its base model. Guiding your path in the Ford F-150 are the basic halogen headlights, but you’ll be able to see clearly at all times when driving the Ram 1500, thanks to its Daytime Running Lamps, which are included on each trim.
Here at Londonderry Dodge, we think it’s safe to say that the Ram 1500 takes home the gold in this matchup between the 2018 Ram 1500 vs 2018 Ford F-150 in Edmonton, AB.
